"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil." Proverbs 3:5-7
This verse is always encouraging to us because it reminds us how we should look at situations in our lives, even the unknown. Solomon was exhorting his son to listen to his words and to keep these things first and foremost in his mind. We should trust that the Lord’s will for our lives is what is best for us. We also need to be careful not to think that we are doing the right thing without looking to see if it aligns with scripture and the will of God. Then, of course, stay clear of the devil and his schemes.
Wrapping up our last session at Roca Blanca language school was bittersweet. We have made many memories and many friends there in Cacalote, Oaxaca, Mexico. It was a great place to learn Spanish. The curriculum was designed for missionaries with many religious vocabulary words. We were handed our certificates of completion before we took our final exams. It almost felt futile since we had our certificates but we took the exam. In order to get approved to fly, our fellow students and now really good friends, Dennis and Rebecca McMahan, drove us to get a PCR test which came out negative and then to the airport to fly to Guatemala. We went to visit great friends and missionaries Adrian and Maurisa Hernandez and family.
