Camp Karis Ministry in Philippines

Camp Karis is a beautiful 17-acre property in Ubay, Bohol, Philippines. It was started in 2001 by Missionary Cory Verge. It hosts camps for all ages, seminars, and conference groups. Twenty-five weddings have been held at the facility.

The purpose is to provide a place for evangelism, nurturing, discipling, and holding events to train and equip people for ministry service. More than 234 camps with over 45,000 campers have used the camp. Local churches and mission groups are the primary users, and several full-time and part-time staff members are employed there. It costs $75 per camper for a 5-day camp. The camp includes several rice fields and many mango trees to help provide income for the camp operations.

Camp Karis facilitates summer camps with the help of the WORD OF LIFE ministry, along with other activities throughout the year. In 2020, we had a successful camp with 260 campers and 14 counselors. Eighty-eight young people made professions of faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior, 98 dealt with their assurance of salvation, and 58 dedicated their lives to the Lord. Most recently, in 2024, we had twelve camps with 1,878 campers and 378 young people dedicating their lives to the Lord. There is great importance of these camps on a young person’s life.
