Recent Crisis: Wm 7.8 Earthquake in the Philippines

On June 8, 2026, a powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani Province in the southern Philippines, causing widespread devastation across Mindanao. Current reports indicate that 78 people lost their lives, more than 1,300 were injured, and over 1.5 million people were affected. Tens of thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed, leaving many families displaced and in need of assistance.

Several CCI leaders and churches were directly impacted. Area Coordinator Arsenio Datang of Sarangani was unable to attend the recent National Conference due to airport closures and damaged roads. His church also sustained significant damage during the earthquake.

In response, CCI has established a relief fund to help affected CCI leaders, churches, and families recover and rebuild. These funds will help provide emergency assistance and support ministry leaders serving their communities during this difficult time.

Please pray for those who have lost loved ones, for families rebuilding their lives, and for our CCI leaders as they continue to share the hope of Christ with those affected by this disaster.

CCI teams are responding with practical aid and the hope of the gospel. Your gift helps rebuild homes for pastors and churches, bringing comfort, strength, and the love of Christ to those who are suffering. Thank you for your generosity and faithful partnership in reaching and supporting the suffering church around the world.
