Albania: A Launching Pad for Europe
CCI’s ministry in Albania is still in its early stages of development. Training first began in 2018, but progress slowed during the pandemic. In late 2021, Pastor Brad Diehl (CCI Trainer and supporter) and I returned to help reestablish the work. Today, under the leadership of Agustin “Gusti” Bushgjokaj, CCI’s Country Coordinator for Albania, the ministry is once again moving forward.
Albania has a population of roughly between 2.4 and 2.8 million. According to the most recent census in 2023, 45.9% identify as Muslim, 15.6% as Catholic or Orthodox, 3.6% as atheist, and only 0.4% as Evangelical Christian. The country has approximately 200 evangelical churches, most of which have fewer than 25 members. After decades of communist suppression, the Church remains in its foundational stage.
We believe God has positioned CCI to equip pastors and leaders in Albania to serve effectively and plant more churches. Our prayer is that Albania will become a launching pad for expanding CCI’s ministry into Europe, multiplying the gospel’s impact across the continent. Read More
