Vietnam: Bridging Generations, Transforming Traditions

Each generation is shaped by the forces of its time, socially, politically, and technologically. According to the CCI National Director, this generational shift has become very visible in the Vietnamese church today.

In Vietnam’s Central Highlands and northern and southern provinces, where believers are most concentrated, churches are witnessing a steady decline in Gen Z participation. During a recent visit, our National Director preached to a congregation of 300, including about 100 youth. Yet only 15 to 20 young people regularly attend the youth service. Sadly, this is not an isolated case but a growing trend.

Many Gen Z individuals are leaving for larger cities to pursue education or jobs. Others, disillusioned, no longer find church engaging or relevant.
