In Acts 6:7, we read that “the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem” (NKJV).
In the context of Acts 6:1-6, a concern arose that the Greek-speaking Jewish widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. The apostles gathered the church, addressed the issue, and instructed them to select seven qualified men to serve. These men were appointed and publicly affirmed through the laying on of hands.
