Jesus gave His followers the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20, commanding them to “go and make disciples of all nations.” In Acts 1:8, He promised believers that they would be His witnesses to the ends of the earth. Yet history shows that many believers initially remained where they were rather than fully carrying out this mission.
Following Stephen’s death, believers were persecuted and scattered, traveling as far as Antioch. What seemed like hardship became a turning point in the early church. As these believers went, some began sharing the gospel not only with Jews, but also with Gentiles. God’s hand was upon them, and many turned to the Lord.
This passage reminds us that ministry within the church is important, but obedience to Christ’s command is essential. Jesus did not simply call His followers to gather. He called them to go, proclaim the gospel, and make disciples of all nations. Read the Full Update
