The world is filled with fear because of sin—fear of death, disease, disasters, lack of daily provisions, separation from loved ones, and uncertainty about the future. Everyone on earth encounters fear. Yet the Word of God reminds us that “perfect love casts out fear.” Verse 10 speaks of this perfect love, Christ Himself, who was sent as the atoning sacrifice for our sins and who is the conqueror of all.
