The Philippines: When the Ground Shakes, God Remains Steady

This October, our team held its planning retreat in Batangas, Philippines, near Taal Lake and the active Taal Volcano. The retreat is a dedicated time to pray, reflect, and seek God’s direction for the year ahead. What made this one especially memorable was that the volcano had a minor eruption just before and during our stay. We were at a resort inside the volcanic caldera, only nine kilometers from the crater.
