CCI Vietnam remains committed to devoting our lives to Christ and faithfully carrying out His Great Commission: “teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:20). In that spirit, we are not only focused on training pastors and church leaders, but we are also deeply concerned with building up the younger generation, those who will carry on the faith and mission of the Church in the future. One of our coordinators has spent much time caring for and guiding teenagers ages 14 to 17 in his local church. The course “Beginning the Journey of New Life” is simple, clear, and concise, making it suitable for people of all ages who desire to embark on the journey of faith in Christ. Through this training, the young people are encouraged to remain connected to the church, build healthy friendships, and, most importantly, grow each day in their knowledge of the Lord. Therefore, training teenagers and young adults is an urgent need that churches must prioritize in this present season.
Whenever I am away from home, my wife also supports me by spending time praying for, caring for, and guiding young people in Bible study. As we have walked alongside them, we have noticed a reality that deserves serious reflection: many teenagers are the third or fourth generation of believers in their families, yet some still honestly ask, “Why do our parents make us go to church?” In addition, some young adults ages 18 to 20 consider living together before marriage normal. These questions and perspectives show us that faith cannot merely be passed down as a family tradition or religious habit. Faith must be explained, nurtured, and personally guided so that young people may truly encounter the Lord, understand His Word, and willingly choose to walk with Him from their own hearts.
