It was 3 a.m. when I was awakened by the loud squealing of a pig just outside the window of the house where we were staying. Within minutes, the noise gave way to deathly silence. Later that day, we had pork for dinner.
This was the last day of the sportsfest organized by the alumni in Bukidnon, a joyful occasion filled with fellowship, prayer, study, and even a basketball tournament. Teachers and alumni shared meals, talked about their families and ministries, elected new officers for the local alumni association, and planned next year’s gathering.
