The world faces war, disease, and poverty—not randomly, but as consequences of the Fall (Genesis 3), while also serving as opportunities to see grace and hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.
In Vietnam in 2026, after the COVID-19 pandemic, with economic inflation, tensions in the South China Sea, and increasing wealth disparities, these issues become even more urgent. As Christians, we also face a spiritual battle: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities… against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12).
Regarding war – a painful global reality! Some Vietnamese people view the actions of the U.S. or Israel as representing the gospel, even believing that God supports wars of aggression. But the Bible teaches that war is evidence of human depravity, not a failure of God. According to Romans 13:1-7, authorities are established by God; we must pray for peace (1 Timothy 2:1-2) and act as peacemakers (Matthew 5:9). True peace comes only from Christ, who conquered sin through the cross. War is a manifestation of the greater spiritual battle: Satan sows fear, while God refines His people (James 1:2-4).
